The BBC UK website recently published online a list of ideas about what the world would be like in 100 years from now. Fascinating and in places disturbing, it featured all kinds of theories, many sounding far-fetched or implausible. Could it be possible, for example, that a person could just simply think about purchasing horse insurance and then quickly do so via the internet? Yes, according to the study, and here were a few other featured ideas which are proving quite popular right now…

1) One currency for everyone: an idea that has already gained some momentum with internet payment companies like Paypal, this one is probably going to happen. Who know how it will affect us, but one thing is for sure, it’s already on the way!

The Interactive Conference Room

The times of Star Trek and Star Wars have not yet come to existance. But whoever wrote the scripts for these masterpieces must have been a technological prophet. The amazing full 3D interactive conversations between people on different planet might now be absolutely possible - for engineers from different countries and locations (only because we are still roaming around our own planet and compare worldwide roaming fees from country to country and not from a planet to planet).

The conference room that the people from AOL are thinking of developing would be an expensive but quite innovative pleasure for its engineers. The room would be like a mini lab with super fast computers, absolutely stunning video capturing modes and perfect motion deterctors. Additionally, the ’cube’technology, which looks more like a cylinder, would display people in their full, a person would be able to go around them as if they are standing in the room and would be able to show them documentation without even sending a file.

Buth the cylinder technology looks quite real. 12 cameras around the oval conference room would capture the body from every angle in an absolutely amazing video resolution. The signel is then worked through specific computer systems which would show a complete image of the person with every detail from his body, shape and clothing. AOL said this might give a fresh start in the communication technologies, and might easily become a preferred method of communicating in the next 10 years.
